A fun, early learning program sponsored by local school districts for soon-to-be parents and parents with children up to three years of age.

Parents as Teachers is designed to assist ALL FAMILIES with children from birth to age three in becoming their children's first teachers.

Upcoming Group Connections​:

  • Zoo Trip - May 12, 2018 - (Join us at the Sedgwick Co. Zoo in Wichita)
    Join Marion County PAT at the Sedgwick County Zoo on Saturday May 12th​ for a fun day at the zoo.  A group discount rate of $5 per person ages 3 and up is available for those who RSVP to Susie Kliewer at 620-947-4041 by Tuesday May 8th.  Families must arrive at the PAT check in table between 9:30-10:00 am in order to get the discount rate.  Please bring exact cash.  Extended family and friends are welcome.  Click here for a flyer with more details.  

Research Shows:

  • PAT children were more advanced than other 3 year-olds in language and social development, problem-solving, and other intellectual skills.
  • PAT children outscored their peers on measures of school readiness and later school achievement.
  • PAT children performed better than non-PAT children in elementary school. 
  • PAT was found to reduce placement in special education; lower incidence of abuse and neglect. 
  • PAT parents took a more active role in their children’s schooling than did non-PAT parents.
