Every child 0-36 months of age is eligible for the Parents as Teachers program in Marion County!

Marion County Parents as Teachers has received national recognition as a Blue Ribbon Affiliate, making it one of the top performing home visiting affiliates within the international Parents as Teachers network!  The official designation was made on October 1, 2018.

To provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.

Research Shows:


  • PAT children were more advanced than other 3 year-olds in language and social development, problem-solving, and other intellectual skills.
  • PAT children outscored their peers on measures of school readiness and later school achievement.
  • PAT children performed better than non-PAT children in elementary school. 
  • PAT was found to reduce placement in special education; lower incidence of abuse and neglect. 
  • PAT parents took a more active role in their children’s schooling than did non-PAT parents.

    Join Marion County PAT for fun at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch near Goessel. Admission to the pumpkin patch is FREE, but some activities will cost money.
