Parents as Teachers is designed to assist ALL FAMILIES in Marion County with children from birth to age three in becoming their children's first teachers. Serving families USD 397, USD 398, USD 408, USD 410, and USD 411.

Meet The Educators
Alex Williams - Parent Educator
We would like to welcome Alex Williams to our PAT Team as a Parent Educator! In her previous role, Alex was the Family Advocate for Marion Head Start Preschool for 6 years. Alex enjoys spending free time with her large family, swimming, fishing and kayaking off the dock at the county lake, riding motorcycle, reading, and listening to rock music! Alex can also be found chasing her toddler around and she loves watching him grow and learn new things every day! Alex shared, “I'm beyond excited for this opportunity to work with our community's little ones and their families! Education has always been a passion of mine and I hope to make a positive impact on everyone I meet!”

Becky Suderman- Coordinator & Parent Educator
Becky has been with Marion County PAT since April 2008. She graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Family Studies. She was a classroom teacher for 7 years and then decided to become a stay-at home Mom after the birth of her second child. "I cannot think of anything I love more than working with children and their parents! It is such a joy and privilege to watch them grow and change!"

Sommer Lowery - Parent Educator
Hi! I am Sommer Lowery. I moved to Marion County in November. I lived in Thailand for the previous nine years and Hays, Kansas, prior to that. I am a mom to seven kiddos and wife to the pastor of Aulne Bible Church. I love spending time with my family! I am a new Parent Educator with Parents as Teachers. I am looking forward to partnering with other parents in Marion County!

Holly has been involved in the past 5 years subbing as a para in USD 410 district and other districts around Marion County. She has focused on being a stay at home mom through the years and has enjoyed the blessings of watching her children grow. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and loves anything to do with music! “My passion has always been working with and creating relationships with children and families. My goal is to impact our children and community in a positive way that helps our community learn and grow for a better future.”
